There's something incredibly charming about this home from the moment you arrive. Full of character, quirky features and flexible space rarely found at this price point, this is the kind of property that feels warm, welcoming and packed with personality. With a huge double garage, beautiful mature gardens and bright sun-filled rooms throughout, this is a home with endless possibilities for its next owner.
Five things our current owners love about their home:
1. The Spacious garden! There's lots of biodiversity and lovely flowers that grow naturally. It looks fantastic in the Summer and has plenty of sun, especially in the morning.
2. The Double garage and large drive. I restore old cars so it's a dream to have that extra space and extremely rare to find in a house of this budget. It was the main selling point for me! The double garage could be used for a plethora of things! Gym, workshop, home brewery, games room etc etc. There's also the old shed that could be utilised for even more recreational space. I added a nice gravel area for turning the cars as well, so the drive is much more usable.
3. The large windows in all the rooms. You get plenty of sun and natural light throughout the day. It gives the space a lovely cozy feel. The bedroom and living room are especially my favourite for soaking in the sun.
4. The location is excellent for hopping on the motorway. 30 Mins drive from Glasgow and 1hr to Edinburgh. There's also a bus stop 5 mins away with a direct route into Glasgow. You're also right by the school and in walking distance to local shops.
5. Plenty of storage. I have several drum kits that take up a fair bit of room! I've had no problem storing them though. There is a large cupboard with a window next to the bedroom that could potentially be made into a mini office, some storage above the stairs, large storage in the boiler area, and finally a cupboard that I fitted a door to under the stairs.
The main living space is filled with natural light thanks to the large windows that frame the greenery outside beautifully. The cosy lounge has a lovely homely feel with feature fireplace and plenty of room to relax, while the adjoining dining space creates a brilliant setup for entertaining or quiet evenings at home.
The kitchen has a charming cottage feel with views out towards the garden and surrounding greenery, while the layout offers excellent practicality for day-to-day living. Throughout the home there's a lovely sense of warmth and individuality that gives the property real character.
The bedrooms are impressively spacious and flooded with natural light, especially the upper rooms where the elevated outlook creates a peaceful and calming atmosphere. Storage is another huge bonus here with multiple cupboards and clever hidden spaces throughout the property, making everyday living incredibly practical.
Externally, this home truly comes into its own. The mature garden is bursting with biodiversity, greenery and seasonal flowers that create a beautiful setting during the warmer months. There's plenty of sun throughout the day, especially in the mornings, while the outdoor space feels private, peaceful and ideal for relaxing.
A standout feature is undoubtedly the incredible double garage and expansive driveway. Rarely found at this level, the garage offers endless flexibility whether used as a workshop, gym, games room, hobby space or somewhere to store classic cars. Combined with the additional shed and turning area, this is a dream setup for anyone needing extra space.
The location is another major advantage with excellent motorway access placing Glasgow around 30 minutes away and Edinburgh within easy reach. A direct bus route into Glasgow is nearby, while schools and local shops are all within walking distance.
